Description
Cecilia and Arvid Mattsson's house. Photo taken from the north, Svedjeholm and Saverkeit in the background. The barn and the roof of the farmhouse are visible in the picture. It is said that Cecilia ruled Arvid with a firm hand. She declared herself a believer and belonged to the Church Youth.

Edit Lönnqvist has told us: On one occasion, the women of the island would sail to church. It was midsummer and one of the "girls" had bought a hat and coat to be displayed. Cecilia Mattsson is said not to have liked the finery, so on arrival at the church jetty they all knelt down and thanked the Lord with the following words: "Lord let me come to your kingdom without the hat and coat". The image is on reg. no. 3473 size 3.
