Description
Gustaf Dalén is Finland's first caisson lighthouse, built in 1947. It stands in the shift between Åland and Southwest Finland. The lighthouse is named after Gustaf Dalén, who made many inventions in lighthouse technology. The lighthouse was built as an experiment, and based on the good experience, several other caisson lighthouses were built to replace lighthouseships.
