Mathias Werner Mattsson was from Hyppeis Rågholm and married Agda Matilda Ali Jansson in Träsk.
Later the couple took the name Hedbäck.
After a few years in America, he came home and built the house at Hedebo in 1914.
The house, like many others in Houtskär, has "American-inspired" details, which the men working as carpenters in America brought home with them.
The house has been passed down to his son Nils and then to his son Bror-Folke.
