Valdemar and Linda were siblings.
The horse was called "Himpe", was known to be elusive and somewhat fiersce.
The windmill was at some point moved to another location.
The cottage, the shed and the stable, which was not yet built when the picture was taken, formed a long row of houses, which certainly had a negative effect on the mill's "working capacity", which probably caused the move.
