The picture was taken from the deck of the s/s Aranda.
You can see the returning sledge teams, a man in a hat with a kicksledge and two dogs on their way to Kittuis.
On the then rather bare island of Santjers, you can see the waiting cottage, which today is owned by the Backman family as a summer house.
Nowadays there are so many trees on the island that you can hardly see the cabin from the passing ferry.
