Description
Ångbåts A/B Houtskär was formed and bought the old Otava, which was very old then, and named it Houtskär. Otava's previous owner was Helsingin Lloyd. Captain was Uno Bergman from Björkö and chief engineer Valter Westerlund from Näsby. The old Houtskär era was resurrected, and a ship was bought, with brightly painted sides and rusted-out sheet metal. After a few years of sailing, the shipping company went under and took a lot of the owners' money with them to the grave. Another ship was also purchased, it was named Furuskär, it was bigger and better.
