Description
Lars steers the Finnhouse Flipper 700, looking a bit pensive. It’s a little foggy, and there’s no nautical chart. But there is a compass and an ashtray.

Most of the time, we made it there without any trouble, despite not having a nautical chart. But in August 1976, we ran the Finnhouse transport boat aground quite badly. Northeast of Nötö. The boat came to a stop, but we were able to back up and free ourselves. Fully loaded, we were able to continue on to our destination. After we set up the cabin and headed home on Friday, we lost the propeller south of Fagerholm, right in the middle of the Utö channel. The wind was from the north, and the boat was drifting out to sea. Vidar Hedman, who was along as a helper, climbed onto the cabin roof and waved his jacket. After a while, the coast guard at Fagerholm spotted us and towed us to Rumar. It wasn’t dramatic, but it turned into a long day of work before we got home.
