The house was built by Runar and Helna Sjölander in the 1920s. Later, their daughter Ragni lived in the house until the new house in Hyppeis was completed. Their son Ragnar took over the house and rented it out as a summer residence to a family named Lampu. Veterinarian Hans Otman lived there for two summers, and the last summer residents were the Mustelin family from Turku. The house was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Ragnar built a new log house a short distance from the old one, and when it was completed, he died. Ragnar is buried in Benholm.
