Description
Reima moved from Houtskär at an early age.
He trained as a chief engineer and sailed on the Sally shipping company's ships, among others.
But his great interest was car racing. In the seventies he started racing in the lower classes and later advanced to Formula 3.
Racing took him all over Europe and to Asia.
England became his home for a time, mainly to compete and run his own racing team.
Although the talent was there, Reima didn't have the financial resources to make it to the top F1 series.
He worked in parallel at sea and chased sponsorship contracts between races.
It's worth noting that a number of Finland's F1 stars have benefited from Reima's knowledge of the sport, in which he is still active.
