Bernt was born on the island of Halsö in northwestern Houtskär, he moved to Abrams in Västra Saverkeit, went to primary school in Norrskata, HKF, became a farmer, worked as a preacher, worked at Församlingsförbundet in Helsinki for many years, returned to Houtskär, worked for many years in the municipality's various bodies, worked for a permanent road connection to Saverkeit, wrote many books, edited, among other things, "En bok om Houtskär" part 1 and 2. Formed Houtskärs kulturgille r.f., was active within the local parish.
