Agda Augusta Sandström, Karl Ossian Leonard Björkvall
Description
This is how Ossain sat for many years after both of his legs were amputated. He built nets for fishermen in Houtskär. Here he sits attaching the snare to a new net, you can see the dipstick in his left hand, and the builder's needle in his right. The cottage had order, rag rugs on the floor and a bucket of water with drinking water. Ossian did this for many years for Katiska, a Turku-based company selling fishing equipment.
Miscellaneous
I, L.B., remember him sitting like this when we went there and we got some candy in the late 50's. Roslax and Kivimo's children from Västanland attended Sunday school there in the 1950s, the teacher was Lisa Peters, and Ossian sat in his rocking chair and listened. Ossian moved around the house rocking the rocking chair from side to side and moved both forward and backward that way.
