Description

Utö village and the lighthouse in winter, late 1920s.
Utö village from the east. The house in the middle foreground was built by the Russians and is called Bokulla Barracks.
The name comes from the fact that during the war there was a Finnish garrison on the island of Bokulla north of Utö.
The men at Bokulla were occasionally exchanged and those who were on liberty were accommodated in this house.
