Kalixta came as a child to Houtskär and was the foster daughter of the crofter Anders Lindholm and his wife Katrina Sundman.
They lived at Ånholm Fagerkulla on a croft belonging to Hanses Roslax.
When Katrina died, Kalixta was dismissed from the croft and had to move to Albert and Vilhelmina (Mimmi) Jansson, Lökdal.
There she helped Albert to fish, until she went with Johannes Englund to Kumlinge on the galleass.
