After his return he built a house, now demolished, at Vålnäs in Näsby.
Axel was a gardener and traveled as a consultant around the archipelago in his fine motorboat.
This boat had long been towed ashore at Vålnäs, where it slowly decayed until it was disposed of when the headland began to be built on.
