Description

1st mate Axel Granlund's diary: 4-m barque HOUGOMONT, 20 months 9 days. It was during this voyage that Axel landed in Australia.

According to his curriculum vitae: As first mate on the 4-masted barque Hougomont from July 5, 1927 to March 15, 1929. Thereafter served on special smaller vessels in Australia for two years. According to the crew list, Axel signed off under contract at Port Lincoln on the above date.

According to the seaman’s book, he also signed off the ship in Port Lincoln in accordance with the law.
Gustaf Erikson never, it was said, took anyone who had escaped back into service again, Axel Granlund, however, continued to sail in Erikson's ship after his Australian parenthesis.
