LAWHILL Captain Julius Gustafsson from Mariehamn, b. 1890, died on 30.07.1924 during a voyage from Newcastle in Australia to Tocopilla in Chile. He had been promoted to master of the Lawhill at the beginning of the year and had started his second voyage as master when he died at the age of 34. The picture is from the funeral at sea on 31.07.1924. Axel Granlund took responsibility for the continuation of the voyage.
