HOUGOMONT 4-masted steel barque, built in 1897 by Scott & Co. of Greenock for J. Hardie & Co. in Glasgow. 2239 net, 2428 gross register tons, 292.4 x 43.2 x 24.1 feet, or 87.5 x 13.2 x 7.4 m. Purchased in 1924 by Gustaf Erikson, Mariehamn. Master: I. Hägerstrand, E.H. Jansén, B.A. Sandström and R. Lindholm. She lost her rigging twice, the first time in 1927, when she went to Lisbon for repairs, the second time on April 20, 1932 in the Indian Ocean. Came under emergency rigging to Port Adelaide, where she was condemned. Sank as a breakwater at Stenhouse Bay.
